Naoki Yamamoto, the current Academic Coordinator of the Sakura Center for Japanese Studies, is writing a new book to introduce Yunus Emre to Japanese readers. In order to learn how to bring Yunus Emre's wonderful poetry to Japanese readers, he decided to organize a study group with experts.
Yunus Emre is one of the greatest Islamic poets in Anatolia. He sang of the beauty and fragility of Dunya, and expressed his love for Allah in words that are clear enough to reach the heart of any human being. His poetry is a refreshing remedy for the inexplicable emotions that are at the root of every human being.
The year 2021 marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Yunus Emre. As a special program, we would like to hold a special seminar in which Professor Recep Senturk will explain the poetry of Yunus Emre. Lectures will be given in English, and there will be performances of traditional Turkish songs and music. For registration please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
